Description Gregor 2017-01-09 05:30:12 UTC
Description:
Immediately after choosing "Nästa" (Next - my computer is in Sweden) the Installation Guide informs me (my translation from Swedish: "The Guide was terminated before the installation of LibreOffice was finished. The System was not changed. You can run the installation program again later to finish the installation. Click on Finish to close the guide"
But running the installation again gives the same result.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Download the LibreOffice_5.2.4_Win_x86.msi
2.Run the Installation
3.Be surprised when it does not install

Actual Results:

which exact Windows version do you use?

did you try uninstalling the old LibO version first, then download again the 5.2.4 installation file and do a clean new install?
Comment 2 Gregor 2017-01-09 10:06:56 UTC
Windows 10 (upgraded from W7)
I did not uninstall my previous version of the LibreOffice suite. (Had this been required I would have assumed that such information would have been prominent). I

ok, so try downloading again the 5.2.4 package and try again to over-install.
maybe the first package was corrupted and that's why installation aborted

if the issue persists you have to try uninstalling 4.4.7 and then do a clean install of 5.2.4
Comment 4 Gregor 2017-01-09 17:54:58 UTC
I tried to uninstall Libre Office 4.4.7.2 with windows System>Apps>Uninstall. Nothing happened (a box blinked too briefly to see what it contained. Choosing "Modify" instead and selecting "Remove" I go the same message as when trying to install LO 5.2.4.2 (Abort - the guide was not finished).
So now I can not uninstall the older version (which works as it does) nor install a newer version.

strange... I suspect your computer has some problems since both behaviours are abnormal.

do one more test... donwload the portable version that doesn't need installation and tell if it works in your Win10 computer.

I can run the portable version but it does not offer the items I need to do custom animations of objects (I reported bugs 53993, 85788, 85798 which I have been asked to retest in the latest version).
Comment 7 tommy27 2017-01-10 01:42:46 UTC
some dialogs and menu item position have been changed in recent LibO versions.
probably those items are not in the same place as before but should be still available elsewhere in the GUI.

So what does that have to do with the inability to install 5.2.4.2?

nothing, I was just trying to asnwer to the issue about the missing items you cited in your previos post.
