the bad image generated in pdf vs original pptx

Opened a pptx PowerPoint in LibreOffice containing Chinese characters. Converted it to PDF using LibreOffice. a fade cloud and X image appears in the PDF that didn't exist in the original powerpoint.

The "cloud and X" image does exist in the presentation, but it is white, so you don't notice it from the background. You can delete it like so: View - Slide master, click to the right of the Chinese chars to select the "invisible image" and hit your delete key. Then return to View - Normal.
