Bézier with two symmetric points

Open the attached file.
Select object and switch to point edit mode.
Notice that the two points have symmetric controls.
Add a new point.
Notice, that the two existing points are converted to corner points and the new one is inserted as symmetric point.

Expected behavior: The existing points are not altered in any way, and the new point becomes a smooth point, with the control points set in a way, that the result equals the existing curve directions at that spot. In case that is to difficult, the new point should be added as corner point with at least tangent direction for its controls.

I see, they cannot remain "symmetric". But "smooth" is possible.

Because "smooth" is not a possible value in file format, I will close this issue.
