Description Rob Mahn 2017-02-12 17:24:24 UTC
Description:
In a new Windows installation and no other office installations, LibreOffice created many OpenOffice related registry entries and incorrect file types and associations.

1. Right-click in Explorer and select New. The only entry is for "OpenDocument Drawing" (works as expected) and a change to "Rich Text Format" that has an incorrect association with soffice.StarCalcDocument.6 and causes Explorer to display the file type as "OpenOffic.org 1.1 Spreadsheet". It also causes the default editor to be LibreOffice Calc.

2. The many registry entries with "OpenOffice.org" and "soffice" do not appear to be correct for LibreOffice.

I can supply registry details and screen shots upon request.

Actual Results:
Install LibreOffice

Expected Results:
Incorrect handling of .rtf files and registry pollution.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Thank you for reporting the bug.
it seems you're using an old version of LibreOffice.
Could you please try to reproduce it with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/ ?
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the latest version.
Comment 2 Rob Mahn 2017-10-02 12:16:46 UTC
The version was current at the time I reported the problem 7 months ago. I'm sorry, but I don't have the time to invest to uninstall office and reproduce this with the current version. I gave enough detail in my report to look at your current installation registry values to see if you can reproduce the problem.
