Description Vitaliy 2017-03-24 08:24:08 UTC
Description:
Autocalculation for cells just stop updating results. Can catch dependency, but enough often for catch it as a result.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use simple formulas in huge file
2. autocalculation stop updating
3. check autocalc option - it was switch on.
4. try switch on/off it few times
5. create simple file. copy-past problem cells in it - autcalculation work.
6. back to huge file. computer stuck - calc overload 1 processor for 10 minits. no auto-calculation in huge file again.

Actual Results:
no recalculation

Expected Results:
recalculation

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I selected normal an don't minor or trivial, because when it's happened you can't catch it directly. Only when you know that something should be recalculated and directly check it. Other words: it's direct Calc functionality and it's not work sometimes.

Maybe there are on the file some functions, that are not updated with Autocalculate that needs a hard recalc [Ctrl+Shift+F9]?

I have just noticed exactly this problem.
In my big sheet the autocalculate is not working.
Cut that page out and put it in a new sheet and it work.
I have 8 sheets but none are very big in that failing one.

I am quite sure it worked when I was creating up the original Spread sheet but I would not have had as many sheets on it then.

I am 64bit
Version: 5.3.6.1
Build ID: 5.3.6.1-3.fc26

Since as indicated in the original post unless you "KNOW" the value should have changed you would not know it is wrong.
Also you have to F9 on each and every cell you need updated which can be a real problem.

I will try and update to 5.4 to see if it is fixed but my auto dnf is saying I am up to date at the moment.

Hi All Good news,
I have managed to download and install 5.4.
My Autocalc issue appears to be fixed.
I just did a test and my cells autocalc updated correctly.
Also now my 5.3.6.1 version also is working.

I don't know why, maybe a library module has been fixed which is used by both versions.
I am happy it is working now for my problem.
If it was a real bug and it got fixed then thanks.
