screenshot - right after inserting accent character

I'm having an issue when I try to add accent marks (U-0301) to the characters in a document, accent is added but it screws up the appearance of a character that it's added to - the character gets duplicated and overlapped with itself. Please see attached image. Saving this garbled document to PDF shows exactly the same is in PDF file.

I found that situation can be fixed if I select the word and change the font, even using exactly the same font as it had before.

Would be nice to avoid using that font workaround and have it behaving normally.

Thanks,
Andy

Believe that is a font fallback issue on Windows builds, should be fully corrected at 5.3.1 release.

Please check the current 5.3.1 release (or 5.3.2 rc1 in pre-release)

You are right, 5.3.1 indeed shows accents correctly. I tried to update LO before submitting a bug but it only offered 5.2.6 and I did not see 5.3.1, I should have waited a bit longer.

Thanks for checking this,
Andy
