Calc doc with no template in document properties

Many documents don't she a template name in the document properties. Do not know why this would happen.
When I open a document and the template characteristics have changed, Calc asks if I want to apply the changed template.
It odes not do so if there is no template in the properties.
Calc should then ask if a template should be provided.
Alternatively, is it possible to edit the meta data to add a template (or to change the creation date - sometimes I use an existing doc for a new purpose instead of starting with new doc.)

There is not a default template by default in LibreOffice. Default styles are hard coded and default fonts are defined in the user options.
However you can define a default template if you want. See the template manager and the help to know how to define a particular template as the default template for a given module of LibreOffice.

So, closing as NotABug. Feel free to reopen if you disagree. In such a case, please explain your point as clearly as possible.
