This bug was filed from the crash reporting server and is br-0c911545-08ae-4781-a2a2-886b8cb5c8ce. ========================================= I was trying to get my existing Conditional Formatting working when the Calc started crashing. It crashed first once, then another time during recovery. Second try at recovery finally solved the issue.
Would it be possible you give a try to a newer LO version? Last stable one is 5.3.2. You may also give a try to 5.2.7 but if you still reproduce the bug on it, you must know there won't be any official new version of 5.2
The problem here is that I cannot reliably reproduce this. The Calc behaves rather erratically in my use case; usually it just produces weird results, but in this case it crashed completely. I upgraded now to 5.2.6.2, as that's the version the automated update system offered me. If the problems persist, I'll try some later version. My use case is basically this: I have a spreadsheet with pre-processed data coming from external program in CSV format and I paste new version of that data almost daily. Then I have formulas on the spreadsheet that calculate a metric from each row based on the data from the CSV, after which I sort the rows per that metric. Now I have Conditional Formatting that colors the rows based on a) if they are listed on special block list elsewhere in the spreadsheet and b) if they have certain value on certain column. What usually happens is that when I sort the main data, the Conditional Formatting definition goes from a single continuous area to about dozen separate Conditional Formatting entries. The bug occurred when I was cleaning this up, editing one of the clauses manually to cover the whole spreadsheet. What might affect this is that the Conditional Formatting in question was created something like 18 months ago, so with older version of the program.
Let's put this one to WFM. Don't hesitate to reopen this tracker if you still reproduce this. In this case, could you attach an example file and step by step process to reproduce this because your description in your comment is too general. BTW LO won't propose you more than 5.2.7 since it only proposes last version of the same branch (you're on 5.2 branch).
I upgraded to 5.3.3 and now the whole program gets stuck when opening the document in question. Windows shows the busy-ring indicating UI is stuck. The ring briefly disappears every now and then but the UI does not respond even then.
Could you please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify the bug?
Let's reopen the bug meanwhile
May I email it to you instead? I'd rather not put it to open Internet and as the version 5.3.3 is unresponsive with it it's rather difficult to sanitize it.

Will do.
I reset the profile and this it looks good. The UI-being-stuck no longer happens.
