Hi, I installed LibreOffice on Kali linux 2017 latest release. It worked for a while then when I started it up again it looked as though it was going to begin as the slide banner was almost finish and the the LibreOffice banner disappeared complete. I search for days for an answer on the internet but the troubleshooting answers said it maybe a corrupted profile or something to do with openGL. I tried everything possible like uninstalling and re-installing libreOffice. Creating a new profile, deleting the old profile with no success hope you come up with a fix. please ask if you need any further information Vince
Kevin there some reason why they not include LO on a penetration OS like Kali it about security

Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

Please change it back to > 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present Thanks for the information: Assuming that it is the "usr" profile folder that I change and now that "Log-in" profile I change. I did that and it still failed. This is what I changed: /home/<user name>/.config/libreoffice/4/user (LibreOffice 4 & 5) /home/j/.config/libreoffice/4/buser /home/j/.config/libreoffice/4/user Then I restarted LO and it did create a new folder but still same issue. I also delete the older user file and still failed. I see no crash report, although I guess there shouldn't be, because I have not used office long enough for it to, "crash". Let me know if you like any reports or screenshots, etc. Thanks for the help
Status still "Unconfirmed" I have noticed that when I reboot my computer, it says stuff like, "Inode repaired" and then it takes 1 minute and 30 seconds on the black screen b4 it boots into the Kali Desktop. Is it possible that my harddrive is starting to degrade? I also installed office. I worked, only problem is when I tried to use it again, it did execute but I could not type anything into word Can anyone comment on what is going on here? Thanks
Here is a video of what happens when I try to start LibreOffice http://69.172.238.30/~skinn589/lo/tryingtoopenlibreoffice.webm
I went back to kali 2016 from beta, installed LO and everything works to a T gonna stick with 2016 KISS
