Description Michael Meeks 2017-06-15 10:28:32 UTC
A report from Andrea Archageli by personal mail; who is a happy user of the impress remote =)

libreoffice shows the laser "dot" pointer at different vertical offsets on the laptop screen and on the external large screen.

when screens are not mirrored - and there is no speaker console - so slides are showing on both laptop and projector (but at different resolutions) - then the vertical position of the 'dot' doesn't match between the screens. That's a bit unfortunate for presenters who are looking at their laptop and not the remote screen.

Thanks ! =)

Is this an Impress remote issue? A documentation issue?

Second § describe an issue of laptop screen vs. projection screen resolution mismatch with consequences in the presentation quality. Apparently it is not working as designed.

Sorry - no, it's the android app that's at fault =) switching the component.

The problem is that the relative position of the spot on the screen is different on the two different resolution pictures - I guess we're using pixels, and not a floating-point / proportional measurement - hopefully an easy fix for someone =)

Hi Michael Meeks,
Do you know if Andrea Archageli is still suffering from this issue ?
Comment 4 Michael Meeks 2018-11-26 19:55:55 UTC
No idea - but I would assume it is easy enough to repeat using the presenter console and the impress remote =)

Hi Michael Meeks,
Impress Remote was yesterday updated to version 2.4.0 (v21), which contains a fix for bug 118484.
Could you please ask Andrea Archageli to check whether his problem is fix in the latest version ?
Comment 13 Michael Meeks 2019-11-14 09:48:58 UTC
And the answer is:
> Whoops it doesn't appear to be fixed.
> To test it's enough to have two monitors and rotate one 90" pivot, that's my
> standard setup, perhaps things improved when both are horizontal, dunno.
> 2.4.0 app from google play and libreoffice-6.2.8.2

Hope that helps =))

Looking help for a way to attach Brother printer WiFi setup Router Wireless Network? don't worry we are here to guide you to determine a connection between your printer to the wireless network. While employing a device you'll encounter various problems, it’ absolutely fine. Everything are going to be taken care of by my team. Don’t got to worry we'll assist you with this. Brother printer support have specialist who will resolution your problem instantly.

The Brother printer setup process for laptop computers is comparatively simple. The printer uses a wireless connection and therefore the laptop will simply require a bridge to send jobs to the printer. The printer uses a secure network and access is merely possible approvingly from the printer administrator. Making the connection is feasible during a matter of minutes and once found out , the connection will remain unless the printer password or security settings are altered.

In order to form the connection, both the printer and laptop must hook up with an equivalent wireless network. plow ahead and connect both devices separately to bring them online. Alternatively, the printer can connect through a hard-line to the web while the laptop remains offline. Regardless, they need to exist on an equivalent network.

Hi Michael Meeks,

I tried to understand this bug report. So there is no presenter console shown on the laptop screen but the slide is being displayed on both screens.

And the screens are not mirrored. How is your configuration to achieve this situation because I could not find an option to have the same slide being displayed on multiple screens in Libre Office without spanning all monitors.
I tried setting the presentation to span all monitors but there I had no issue with the location of the pointer. I have rotated also one of my monitors by 90° as suggested but I was not able to reproduce the issue on the latest master version.

Furthermore, I see this bug report is set to the component "Android Remote App" which does not make sense if there is a difference between the laptop and projector screen because the remote app does only send one location, which is then drawn on maybe multiple screens.

As I have fixed a similar bug I would be interested in trying to reproduce it to see if it is maybe already fixed.

The bug which I have fixed, was that the pointer was not in correct location in the presenter console.

Hey - thanks for the fixes dldld and taking an interest ! =)

> when screens are not mirrored - and there is no speaker console - so
> slides are showing on both laptop and projector (but at different resolutions)

I struggled to reproduce this - is/was this an old meaning of 'All Displays' - it seems now that this setting tries to spread the slides between multiple displays somehow; perhaps previously it put the same slides on both displays [ which is hyper-useful for presenting - but I imagine people do by OS window mirroring these days ].

So - I -guess- it's hard to test/see the issue because of the 'All Displays' behavior on Linux - which I (used to) expect to replicate the same slides on multiple different resolutions displays: but currently for me cuts my slides in half on one display, and shows nothing on the 2nd ;-)

Does that help ?
