Writer will not save. Changes in working document will not save, cannot find (filename), permission denied. Also fails to open document except as either "Untitled (number)" or Save As, either that the filename does not have permissions, cannot be found, or the Save dialog insists on replacing the filename I give it with a file or directory name already listed.
Additional: These warning tiles appear when trying to save the file: Error saving the document Vivien's part: Access to /home/patrick/Book/Emrys/Vivien's part.doc was denied Error saving the document Vivien's part: /tmp/lu2926zqt98r.tmp/lu2926zqt98x.tmp does not exist Error saving the document Vivien's part: General Error. General input/output error.
Thank you for reporting the bug. Please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify the bug. I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. If it won't save I cannot attach it. The document is appx 15 pages long.
I believe I am a "user." Why can I not update the severity to Critical? In the past, a restart or full restart would temporarily solve the problem. Now my work will not save, regardless. How can I continue with this book if I can't save the progress?
Can you try to save it to another format ? To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Update: Ubuntu had created a Home directory with the machine name as User. I made a new one under my own username to keep my documents & such. The file will save under the machine name Home and the remote hdd. Until recently there had been no problem saving to the username Home. Not Critical at the moment, but Highly Annoying.
I went through the Safe Mode routine and encountered the same Save error.
Created attachment 134092 [details] This is the file that was not saving. In truth, none of them were.

Well it's some issue with your operating system permissions and thus not related to LibreOffice. Closing.
