Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Hi, probably due to my poor English, but i wrote that already cleared profile. Anyway i re-cleared, re installed 5.3.4 but needed to be back to 5.2.7. I really do not know if really a LibreOffice fault or my system configuration problem (use in more than one PC, but only in this one i got this problem). Asking on LibreOffice forum, some other got this problem and they suggested me to report you, as i did! Thanks and ciao, Walter
ciao Walter, ma la versione 5.3.4.2 che va sempre in crash su Lubuntu funziona su altri computer con Linux? se sì, in che cosa differiscono i computer dove va in crash e dove invece funziona bene? ..... Hi Walter, does the 5.3.4.2 release that always crashes on Lubuntu works correctly on other Linux machines? if yes, which are the hardware differences between these 2 computers?
I installed lubuntu in an old machine and it's not crashing in 5.3.4.2

Grazie e buona giornata! Multiple differences: One it is an assembled PC, the other one it is an HP, ( 2 more laptop but windows installed). On HP no problems, on this one yes. I can point configuration of this one with problems: CPU AMD64 3200+ Ram 2G Video=NVidia NV18. Old but it is working!! Tho other one not frequently used and it is at home, if needed i can verify model. Thanks and have good day! Ciao!
Could you please try to bisect the problem to find where the issue was introduced ? More info -> https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Bibisect/Linux
I might be experiencing the same (or a related) bug. I have two similar Dell PCs, both 32-bit. One runs Lubuntu 16.04 and LibreOffice 5.1.6-rc2 without any problem. The other recently ran Lubuntu 16.10 and LibreOffice 5.1.6 (I think), again without any problem. I have now upgraded the second machine to Lubuntu 17.04, and Writer crashes on opening (that is, even on opening a blank document). On this second machine I uninstalled LibreOffice and ran apt-get autoupdate and apt-get clean; then reinstalled LibreOffice, obtaining version 5.3.1.2. But the problem remains. I have also run in safe mode, and reset the settings and the user profile; but still Writer cashes.
let's consider this as a confirmation. status NEW
Further information. The versions installed on my two machnes were selected automatically by the Synaptic Package Manager from the relevant repositories. But I've now downloaded version 5.4 directly from the website (LibreOffice_5.4.0_Linux_x86_deb.tar.gz) and installed it from the command line alongside 5.3. The bug doesn't appear in 5.4, but remains in 5.3.
@Walter would you please test 5.4.0.3 too to see if the issue is resolved in your machine too?
does anybody who experiences this use a 64-bit build of LibreOffice? if so, please reopen. given that it was filed in July, if it only affects 32-bit builds it's probably the JVM crash again; so i'll claim it's a dupe of 108619. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 108619 ***
