I didn't find any enhancement request regarding this. Also, I didn't find any option in LO that does this, so I decided to file an enhancement request. There should be a button while having an image selected, that would allow to resize the image to fit the whole (current) page. For example: I am working on my medical process of an accident I had and I scanned several documentation which I add in topics and subtopics. I am facing difficulties in enlarging the images by hand since they are A4 pages and I can't see where the Writer margins, vertical and horizontal, end. So, if I had a button, the scans would automatically fit to the best possible way. Thanks!
In options / libreoffice writer / view checks vertical ruler or in toolbar view / rulers check vertical ruler then you will have above and left the margin rulers for your writer document Version: 6.0.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 959be1b5a9cd522394dba9366686a1256588223b CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.9; UI render: default; VCL: kde4; TinderBox: Linux-rpm_deb-x86_64@70-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2017-07-11_00:18:59 Locale: nl-BE (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

I have the rulers on, but they are scanned documents and thus they have white margins (not easily visible while resizing by hand, and they often go beyond the page). It would be great if LO could have this feature.
Very specific use case. Does not really make sense to develop code to fit scanned images in Writer. I suggest this be WontFix.
I agree to Timur. And if you use the image dialog, you can easily adjust the size of your picture to the size of the current page. So I can't really see a problem.
I agree with Timur and Dieter. Let's keep the UI clean (as best as possible).
