Description gwenhael.coray 2017-07-17 20:26:24 UTC
I just downloaded LibreOffice 5.3.4.2 and encounter a crash which occurs each time I try to insert an em dash.

This is something I had'nt with previous versions of Writer.

To reproduce:

Just open Writer, and type Alt + 0151.

Writer crashes.

Open again Writer, don't recover the document (or it will crash again, need to kill the process), and copy paste an em dash like this one: —

And Writer crashes again.

Note that the en dash, Alt + 0150, does not lead to a crash.

I try other values, like Alt + 0152 (don't know what it is, by the way), and this lead also to a crash. Maybe every character with alt code higher than 0150?

FWI, em dash is used for dialog It may be replaced by quotation dash, with code Alt + 22, but leads to a crash also.

I am using Windows 10.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

By deleting the user profile directory, I cannot see the issue anymore.
Seems to be solved (even if I have no idea why the user profile was corrupted nor Writer crashed when the profile is corrupted).
