Created attachment 134718 [details] crash dump.ini I experience repeated system crashes and reboot while I'm typing in LibreOffice Writer. In average, I'm able to write ~ 10 lines of text before it occurs, so it's just unusable. First the interface freezes, I'm able to see mouse cursor moving but cannot interact with anything. After 15/30 seconds the system restarts. I'm running Linux / Fedora 25, XFCE, on a laptop Lenovo T460p I had the same issue with previous version of LibreOffice (don't remember which one it was), I upgraded to latest release hoping it would be fixed. I've only experienced this issue while typing in LibreOffice Writer so far. I sometimes use Calc and never had this (by luck?). Most of the time I don't use LibreOffice, and system never crashes. I've tried to delete the user config directory (~/.config/libreoffice) but crashes still occur (although the first time I did that, I could write for longer than usual before it crashed... not sure if it's meaningful) It seems to be related to graphic drivers: journalctl reports at the time of the crash: juil. 19 06:22:06 cartago kernel: [drm] GPU HANG: ecode 9:0:0x86dffffd, in Xorg [1256], reason: Hang on render ring, action: reset juil. 19 06:22:06 cartago kernel: drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang juil. 19 06:22:06 cartago kernel: [drm] RC6 on juil. 19 06:22:06 cartago kernel: [drm] GuC firmware load skipped juil. 19 06:22:26 cartago kernel: drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang juil. 19 06:22:26 cartago kernel: [drm] RC6 on juil. 19 06:22:26 cartago kernel: [drm] GuC firmware load skipped juil. 19 06:22:36 cartago kernel: drm/i915: Resetting chip after gpu hang juil. 19 06:22:36 cartago kernel: [drm] RC6 on juil. 19 06:22:36 cartago kernel: [drm] GuC firmware load skipped juil. 19 06:22:37 cartago kernel: nouveau 0000:02:00.0: DRM: resuming kernel object tree... I'm also attaching my crash dump.ini file Please let me know if any other information is needed.
I wrote "I'm able to write ~ 10 lines of text before it occurs" It's not totally accurate, it's kind of random, sometimes I don't have crash after 30 min of writing.
Thank you for reporting the bug. To be certain the reported issue is not related to corruption in the user profile, could you please reset your Libreoffice profile ( https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile ) and re-test? I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present
Sure, I will try with the safe mode, but I already tried removing the user directory (~/.config/libreoffice), so I'm not sure if it will change anything.
For information, I've been writing several times, without any crash since I ran in safe mode. So I'm a bit perplexed since removing the user config dir. did not prevent the crashes. But for now everything looks fine.
I think you can close it. Didn't had new crash since then.
