Created attachment 134954 [details] example of navigation toolbar popping up unwanted Hi All, I do not knwo if this problem has been tackled before.. When I insert a footer or header in a document, by clicking on the "+" button at the top or bottom of the page to insert a standard footer or header, the navigation toolbar appears unwanted. See the read circles in the attachement. I find this annoying. Is it a bug that I need to report? Or am I doing someting wrong here? The only way to get rid of getting rid of this navigiation toolbar is each time it appears following these steps.. " 1) select view menu 2) go to toolbars 3) uncheck navigation toolbar. This 'problem' i have for several years now and each time i hope it will be resolved, Still continues. I made some new clean installs on several machines during the time, but that is not the solution. Maybe one of you can help; otherwise maybe i can file it as a bug. OS: Windows 10 x-64 LO:5.3.4rc 2 (and lots of previous versions). I hope soem one knows how to solve this. Thanks! Maarten
I think it is not a bug, toolbar visibility depends on the context. This toolbar is annoying you because you moved the standard toolbar on the left side. You can do the following: - move the navigation toolbar on the left side, below the standard toolbar or - move the standard toolbar to its default position. Closing as NotABug. Feel free to reopen and set back to unconfirmed if you disagree. in such a case, please argue. Best regards. JBF
Hi, Thank you for the swift response. However,I tested it.. it has nothing to do (as far as i can see with the position of the toolbar on the left hand side of the screen... So what i did: -Put the toolbar back up from left hand side to top; problem of nav bar popping up still there. - switched off the sidebar.. problem still there - tested on other machine, with single toolbar on top: same problem.. So i think it might be a bug! Is there for a long time, but I hoped maybe now with new version of LO 5.4, it might be solved. DInt't get me wrong here, i love LO and use it for a long time. It is fantastic office suite and i will use it forever.. :D But this little bug keeps annoying me! BTW: i tried expirimental notebookbars briefly as well.. looks very promising.. although there the bug (nav bar poopping up when inserting header/footer) is there too!! Thank you! Feel free to give any reply! Ciao, Maarten
(In reply to Maarten from comment #2) [...] > -Put the toolbar back up from left hand side to top; problem of nav bar > popping up still there. Yes the nav bar is still popping up but it pops up in the same bar row as the standard toolbar and then it does not make the text area moving. If, for you, the nav bar pops up in the second bar row, you should move the nav bar at the end of the standard toolbar. Next time it will pop up, it will do there. > - switched off the sidebar.. problem still there > - tested on other machine, with single toolbar on top: same problem.. > > So i think it might be a bug! Why ? Nav bar is intended to allow you to navigate between visited objects in your document. By creating an header, you created and selected a new object. So, at the end, what is your problem ? 1/ the nav bar shouldn't pop up at all in such situation, whatever its location? or 2/ the nav bar popping up make the text area moving and it is disturbing? If 1/ please explain why. Back to needinfo. Best regards. JBF
