Greetings,
I am currently on 5.2.7.2, and the problem still occurrs. I have my page size set to 5.5.x8.5, and have tried inserting a footer, and adding a page number. The operation fails at page 114. I am going to use your link to get the most current LibreOffice, and will let you know how that goes.
Comment 4 William L Garner 2017-08-01 11:18:36 UTC
I upgraded to LibreOffice 5.4. The problem persists. Insert fail of Footnote and page number fails at page 114.
Comment 5 William L Garner 2017-08-01 14:34:49 UTC
Observed additional weirdness.

If I attempt to add a page number from page 115 to page 230, it deletes page 115 to page 230.

When I attempt to insert a footer from page 115 to page 230, it asks me if I am sure I want to delete the footer.

Hope this helps.
