I think the summary is clear enough. It's a bit annoying having to think whether I'm using Calc or Writer before placing the cursor at the right row to add the row where I want. Since Writer is probably more used, I suggest changing Calc's behavior to agree with Writer's, i.e. adding row below.
Sorry but on the last versions there are the options to insert left/right or above/below, with Calc and Writer.
