Any better with last stable LO version 5.3.5?
Comment 8 R EVEN 2017-08-11 13:10:36 UTC
We already tested with the 5.4 version with an identical problem.
If you want we specifically test the 5.3.5 we can do it, but it will take time to fetch it...

Thank you for your feedback. If it fails too with a recent 5.4, don't bother with 5.3.5
Since I don't have more questions, I'll put it back to UNCONFIRMED.

Comment 12 V Stuart Foote 2017-08-11 17:32:48 UTC
The font appears to be correctly designated as a Symbol file. But, the needed font symbol file mappings onto the lower ASCII seem to not be made--so some fallback font is used rather than the barcode glyphs.

If the Unicode PUA (F020-F0Ad) for each glyph are used and <alt>+x converted (or picked from Special Character dialog) they are rendered to canvas.

So there is a regression in handling symbol font mappings.

In the meantime one can try these set of modern barcode fonts https://github.com/graphicore/librebarcode

In OpenOffice, the barcode opens correctly, is there really no way to do likewise in libreoffice?
