Description sander.lindeman 2017-08-15 16:52:22 UTC
Description:
When multiple instances of Writer are open, the notebookbar only shows in the instance that has focus. If the focus goes to another writer window, the notebookbar disappears, and appears in the instance that has focus. When the focus changes to a non-writer window this does not happen.

An example can be found here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/555hlcf4xsjygv4/libreoffice_notebookbar_bug.ogv?dl=0

This is the case with the following toolbar layouts:
Contextual Groups
Contextual Single
Groupedbar Full
Groupedbar Compact

The File menu is always visible.

Linux:
Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Kernel 4.9.4-040904-generic

LibreOffice:
5.4.0.3
Build ID: 1:5.4.0~rc3-0ubuntu0.16.04.1~lo1
CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.9; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: group

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open two new writer windows
2.Use Notebookbar with one of the above layouts
3.Switch between windows

Actual Results:
1.Open two new writer windows
2.Use Notebookbar with one of the above layouts
3.Switch between windows

Expected Results:
All items in the menu should be visible all the time

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Could not reproduce in development version, running on 64-bit Manjaro. (Screenshot attached.) Could someone else verify that this isn't a problem (anymore)?

Sander: would you care to install Xubuntu 17.10 beta into a virtual machine to try how Notebookbar behaves in it? http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily-live/current/

Could you please try to reproduce it with a master build from http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/ ?
You can install it alongsidethe standard version.
I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to 'UNCONFIRMED' if the bug is still present in the master build

This bug has been fixed in version 6.0.6.2 (Build ID: 1:6.0.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.1).
Perhaps also in earlier versions, but I just noticed =)
