Created attachment 135813 [details] Edit document from video. In video to Youtube I describing my problem. https://youtu.be/BdaVAIDy1IA
Hi Michal, A way to do that is to select the text you want to replace except the last character. The replacement keeps the previous format and it's easy to delete the last character. But I guess you want the same behaviour than the private suite in this situation: the replaced text keeps the previous format and attributes. Is it what you think about? Regards, Jacques
Hi Jacques, thanks for reply. Thank you for your idea. When select text without "." it is OK, but when double click to sentence with "." it is bad. This problem is only when copy: more sentences with bold text: <b>weak point/spot</b> – slabina, slabá stránka <b>My inability to make quick decisions has always been my weak spot.</b> - Vždycky byla slabá v matematice. But it is OK when copy only one sentence with bold text: <b>I feel weak. I need to sit down.</b> - Cítím se nějaký slabý. / Je mi mdlo. Musím si sednout. I think it would be easier for users if the formatting did not change when the entire sentence was selected by double-clicking the mouse. But when select only sentence without "." It is good too. I do not have to write a dot. :-) Best regards, Michal
So far I have to use https://office.live.com/start/Word.aspx works well.

I can repro it with the given document. However problem is gone when copying everything and pasting it into a new document using Paste RTF Menu Edit -> Paste Special -> Paste RTF
Hey, thanks for idea. RTF do not work for me, but paste like HTML seems working. Other programs work with the classic Ctrl + C combination. But when it comes to doing so, I'm gonna have to get used to it and maybe it'll be better.

So if you know to steps to produce a document with the behavior as attached, please report.

Sometimes do not work Ctrl+V or CTRL+Shift+V (RTF and HTML) The program sometimes does what he wants. You may try write text. I using bold text for English text and change language to English (UK) and Italic to Czech text and leave preferred Czech language. And then I copy these two sentences.
You can't confirm your own bugs. Moving it back to UNCONFIRMED until someone else confirms it.
Created attachment 137420 [details] Recreation of attachment 136516 [details] (In reply to Michal Janoušek from comment #8) > Created attachment 136516 [details] > Problem inserting There is something weird about your document. I recreated a similar one from scratch and I don't see the problem of losing formatting. If I copy the first paragraph in your document and paste it in a new paragraph before the last, the boldness is lost. If I do the same with my own document, the boldness is not lost. The only difference in the structure of the content.xml is that my document has the element <text:p text:style-name="Standard"> as a parent container for 2 of the paragraphs, but your document does not have the Standard style.
I also did some tests. What I discovered: The problem only occurs, if you paste the sentence after the last paragraph of your document. If you paste it somewhere else, everything was fine for me. If I delete the paragraphs after the blank line, I can also paste the sentence at the end of the text and can delete the bold text and write again in bold.
Hi Michal Janoušek, Could you please explain how the document was created?

Created attachment 139053 [details] Regular-bold
I try to learn English. I write some lessons in the Libre Office Writer, and sometimes I copy the pronunciation on the https://tophonetics.com/ website. Mostly I write the English word in bold with the English spell-checking language set. Then I write the second sentence Czech with Czech spell check. The error will show what I notice when the last bold font is set. I tried to create two documents Bold - regular.odt and Regular - bold.odt. In the second document when copying, the entire copied sentence is bold. When I use Ctrl-Z and paste it again, then everything is fine.
I didn't really understand the problem here - because there are no clear Expected and Reproduces steps. If you select all bold part random text style and start typing, than it's some new style. See content.xml. Anyway, no point in working with this example document. It's also wrongly created because bold, italic are manually applied and not with styles. And LO has it's behavior See Bug 88923 and Bug 68271 and Bug 68268. I'll put this one to Invalid.
