Description: For some reason, some charts do not allow changing the data label placement. The behaviour is inconsistent. Steps to Reproduce: Could not figure out how to reproduce the issue reliably, so provided a file with example chart having the issue. Get into the chart, right click on data series or label, select "format data label", got to "data labels" tab. Actual Results: Data label placement choice is greyed out. Expected Results: The placement line should not be greyed out. Reproducible: Sometimes User Profile Reset: No Additional Info: My system: Version: 5.3.5.2 Build ID: 50d9bf2b0a79cdb85a3814b592608037a682059d CPU Threads: 2; OS Version: Linux 3.13; UI Render: default; VCL: kde4; Layout Engine: new; Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); Calc: group User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0

Hi stragu, Only the first Pie diagram, Pie Normal, allows to change this setting I reproduce with LO 6.0.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: 9420391cc9f6af2a16c1db72596f277439df29e9 CPU threads: 2; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; TinderBox: Win-x86@39, Branch:master, Time: 2017-08-29_06:08:06 Locale: fr-FR (fr_FR); Calc: CL and LO 3.5.3.2 Version ID : 235ab8a-3802056-4a8fed3-2d66ea8-e241b80 Windows 7 Home Also OOo 3.1.0 000310m11 (Build:9399) Window XP Thank you to have reported it.
Hi Jacques Thanks for the reply. However, I noticed that you can also change the setting for the exploded pie chart. Can you confirm that? Furthermore, it seems that there is more inconsistency than we think: the SuperUser.com questions seems to show that it is possible to have a donut chart with custom label placement, while another donut chart doesn't allow it, in the same document. See the picture here: https://superuser.com/questions/647933/lo-calc-why-are-data-labels-placement-options-greyed-out
Exact. The exploded Pie chart allows also the placement. A workaround(?) when you can't change the placement is to change the chart type for an other allowing it, to make your placement choice here, and return to the previous type. So you can find views with all the available placements, even if it's not directly workable. Thanks for the attention.
