In German "Save Remote file" is translated to "Webdatei speichern" (engl. "save webfile"). For me this leaves the impression die file is saved in a different format (the "web format", what ever this is, maybe HTML). But the menu entry opens a dialog to save files on a WebDAV server (i assume). I suggest translating like "Speichern auf Server …" (engl. "save to server"), which would express the "remote" aspect.
I agree. I also thought of a different format, when I saw "Webdatei" speichern for the first time. I also agree to the suggestion "Speichern auf Server".
I am also not happy with the translation. "Speichern auf Server" sounds o.k. to me. But maybe someone come up with a better solution. Will think about it too.
(In reply to Sophia Schroeder from comment #2) > "Speichern auf Server" sounds o.k. +1, but better with the subject first "Auf Server speichern" or just "Extern speichern".

Sounds like "Save on external/USB disc" which would give false impression.
Firefox translates remote with extern mostly. https://transvision.mozfr.org/?recherche=remote&repo=central&sourcelocale=en-US&locale=de&search_type=strings But while a browser is designed to always work remotely and there is no remote save/open menu entry, this is not a good reference. ;)
"Auf Server speichern" was accepted for master / 5.4.2. I close this bug now as RESOLVED/FIXED. Feel free to reopen it if any concerns.
