Description armijn 2017-09-02 14:40:51 UTC
When writing reports I sometimes have to include a simple table, with data coming from a file (CSV, TSV, etc.). Right now I have to cut and paste, but it would be really great if I could create a table in Writer and then right click and have an option "import column(s) from file".

What about, for example for inserting a CSV file:
1/ menu Insert > Document -> choose the CSV file
2/ select the inserted data, then menu Table > Convert > Text to Table

The advantage over your workflow is that you do not have to create the table before inserting the data, so you don need to remember what is the number of the columns and rows of your CSV file when creating the table. That means you don't have to open the CSV file in a text editor to check its structure.

Set status to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
