Description jrroyal8 2017-09-16 19:51:45 UTC
I just installed version 5.4.1.2 yesterday 9/16/2017 on my 32 bit Windows x86 computer.

I was ASTONISHED that the calc spreadsheet STILL has a massive bug in which the sheet is NOT always recalculated when new data is input! This happens even when "auto recalculate" is turned on.
I have to FORCE the page to recalculate by pressing CTRL SHIFT F9

This is extremely dangerous. It results in unreliable results, errors, etc.
Spreadsheets are used in many businesses. Imagine the disasters of having a spreadsheet that is producing incorrect results? EEK! People could easily lose their life's savings.. businesses could easily go bankrupt.

This is NOT a new bug. I found people complaining about this problem in the forums for at least a year.

Even more disturbing.. if such an obvious error exists.. and has not been fixed.. how is someone supposed to have any confidence in the results of the spreadsheet's calculations? Are those random numbers really random? Are the trigonometry functions using the right table of values?

At the very LEAST, there should be a programmable key to recalculate the spreadsheet. I would suggest the = key, or the F9 key, instead of having to use two hands and 3 keystrokes to press CTRL SHIFT F9

In my case, the error shows up most often when doing subtraction and division

Please attach a minimal sample file for test.

I will when I am back on that computer.

I think the bug is only in the 32 bit / X86 version.. not the 64 bit version.

I randomly encounter the same issue with Calc in version :5.4.2.2
Build ID:22b09f6418e8c2d508a9eaf86b2399209b0990f4
under linux.

The problem now is that we know the steps how to easily reproduce the bug, with clear steps.
