Description bugs.documentfoundation.org 2017-09-17 11:32:37 UTC
After extending one of my tables I filled the new fields with data. Shortly after I get a NullPointerException an the whole table is empty. When the table is not saved, only the newly added data was lost. After a few attempts, I got another error and no connection to the database was possible. The whole DB was lost. No way to restore the lost data.

Please try to reproduce this with a new database. Fill in some content in a new table. Save the database, close LO. Then reopen LO and the database. Add some fields.

Could you reproduce the buggy behavior there with your system?

You could sent the damaged database to me per private mail. I will have a look ...

@Thorsten : we need a reproducible scenario with detailed steps explaining how to reproduce the behaviour you are seeing.

It would help if we had a minimal, sample database which shows the problem. If not, then at least a minimum set of steps to enable us to try and reproduce. Your screenshots only tell us what you see, not what you are doing or have done when the problem manifests itself.

In addition, please specify :

- version of LibreOffice;
- version of JDK;
- minimu database table definition;
- detailed steps of newly added fields/definitions;
- whether you saved the newly defined database, quit and reloaded before trying to add new data, or whether you attempted to add new data directly after modifying the table definition.

Dear Bug Submitter,

Please read this message in its entirety before proceeding.

Your bug report is being closed as INSUFFICIENTDATA due to inactivity and
a lack of information which is needed in order to accurately
reproduce and confirm the problem. We encourage you to retest
your bug against the latest release. If the issue is still
present in the latest stable release, we need the following
information (please ignore any that you've already provided):

a) Provide details of your system including your operating
   system and the latest version of LibreOffice that you have
   confirmed the bug to be present

b) Provide easy to reproduce steps – the simpler the better

c) Provide any test case(s) which will help us confirm the problem

d) Provide screenshots of the problem if you think it might help

e) Read all comments and provide any requested information

Once all of this is done, please set the bug back to UNCONFIRMED
and we will attempt to reproduce the issue. Please do not:

a) respond via email

b) update the version field in the bug or any of the other details
   on the top section of our bug tracker

Warm Regards,
