Description t0m1p 2017-10-04 16:35:01 UTC
Description:
When opening anything, no filesystem changes (e.g. renaming, creating new files or directories) are shown if these happened during the time the dialog was open.

There is also no refresh button, so the only way to refresh the dialog is to go into a different directory and then back again.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open up the "Open" dialog.
2. Make a change in the filesystem from the different application (e.g. create/rename a new document/directory).
3. Have a look at the dialog and find out whether it has changed.

Actual Results:
Nothing in the dialog changes.

Expected Results:
Auto-updating the directory content on change, providing a refresh button in the dialog, or both.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

Do you mean the operating system dialog or LibreOffices own dialog? That is set in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > General.

And you need to specify your operating system.

BTW: For the file open/save dialog of Windows, refresh is done by F5-key.
Comment 2 t0m1p 2017-10-10 15:06:20 UTC
I mean LibreOffice's own dialog. F5 doesn't work for me.

Version info:

LibreOffice version: 4.2.8.2
LibreOffice Build ID: 420m0(Build:2)

Window manager: KWin: 4.11.11

Xorg version: 1.18.3

Kernel version: Linux 4.4.0-31-generic x86_64

OS Distributor ID: Ubuntu
OS Description: Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS
OS Release: 14.04
OS Codename: trusty

(I'm actually using Kubuntu.)
Comment 3 t0m1p 2017-10-10 15:37:05 UTC
It can be reproduced in the latest version as well.

Click in "File name" field. Press * and then press Enter. At least for opening this should work as workaround.

A "refresh" button would be useful too for Server connections.

The workaround works for saving as well, thanks.
