Open Calc Add a comment to a cell Show comment Edit the comment - delete the content Issue: The Add comment button is activated. So: 1. You can add more comments and show them all 2. You can delete the last comment only, and then the remaining comments (empty) will remain displayed without the option to remove them. Screencast https://www.screencast.com/t/uf35DXl0hMLr Version: 5.4.1.2 (x64) Build ID: ea7cb86e6eeb2bf3a5af73a8f7777ac570321527 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default; Locale: ja-JP (ja_JP); Calc: group
It is also possible to add multiple empty comments from the begining, and the comment red dot appears, but you do not get the option to show or delete or edit them.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding ** To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today, LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year. There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still present. If you have time, please do the following: Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/ If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help - About LibreOffice. Please DO NOT Update the version field Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker) Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular meaning that is not appropriate in this case) If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a REGRESSION. To do so: 1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/ 2. Test your bug 3. Leave a comment with your results. 4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo'; 4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat: https://kiwiirc.com/nextclient/irc.freenode.net/#libreoffice-qa Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone! Tested with Version: 7.0.0.3 Build ID: 8061b3e9204bef6b321a21033174034a5e2ea88e CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: en-US Calc: threaded and Version: 5.4.6.2 Build ID: 4014ce260a04f1026ba855d3b8d91541c224eab8 CPU threads: 4; OS: Linux 4.15; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; and in 7.0 the issue is less relevant. After deleting the content of the comment, with right-click on the same cell you can create a new comment ("Insert comment...") over the context menu but then the old empty one vanishes. Calc handles an empty comment in the context menu of a cell in the same way as there is no comment at all.
You can also post many blank comments at the beginning; the comment red dot will show, but you won't be able to see, delete, or modify them. https://phrazle.co
