Description t.b.adams 2017-10-08 21:03:28 UTC
Description:
I use a custom truetype font which is an exact copy of my written signature on certain documents. The process requires that where I want the font shown in the document, I select the font, press the keyboard keys Shift+a or if caps lock is on A and the font appears. This process still works in MS Office 2000 and it works in Windows 10 WordPad. It will not however work in LibreOffice 5.3.6.1. I did find that I can use Insert Special Characters then select the font and click on the font and it will insert the font but, I find that to be very cumbersome.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Select my custom font
2.Press Shift+a
3.

Actual Results:
Nothing

Expected Results:
Should have inserted the custom font just as other software still does.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: I followed the instructions for resolving User Profile corruption below.

Sorry, working with a specific font requires selection of that font either directly formatting the character/paragraph, or as you note inserting with Special Character dialog with the font selected.

The signature glyph is by its nature a Special Character, that is the method provided for interactive use. The alternative and some would argue correct way would be to create a new Paragraph style using the glyph and use that to insert your signature fully formatted (i.e. size, color, alignment, etc).
