Description Mesterházy Attila 2017-10-23 18:36:10 UTC
Description:
I've followed every step from https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Deployment_and_Migration and it works fine with LibreOffice 5.1
But when I tried to deploy the latest version this way it does nothing. I could add LibreOffice 5.4.2 to GPO but the client's doesn't install it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add libreoffice to gpo
2. restart client
3. not installing

Actual Results:

Have you tried to check within Resultant Set of Policies if the GPO has all the permissions to be applied to the clients or it was discarded in some ways?

Have you checked within the logfile for installation as indicated in the guide to see if any conflicts arose?

I've tried to create a new organization unit without any GPO and created a new GPO with only installing LibreOffice 5.4 (5.3 had the same result).
Forced GPupdate but after restarting the computer nothing is installed. No error in the event log, no output at all. If I start it with commandline from the same place it installs correctly.

Hi Marina,
Italo told me you might have done a migration recently.
Which version did you migrated? Did you encounter the problem described in this bug ?

There are several reasons that could cause this issue. Please, can you give us more details?
For example, which OS version (arch and functional level) are you running on your DC?
Which OS version are you running on your client?

Sometimes the issue can occurs due to a connection problem.
Try to have a look to your network preferences. It's important that the client joins the domain before logon or it simply will ignore to test to apply the policy.

The output of the GPRESULT command could help too.
Do you have edited the MSI? If yes, how?
Which ADML/ADMX are you using?
Last but not least, try to have a look to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Group Policy\AppMgmt in the registry of the affected machine. The key is added when a deploy is done and avoid to redeploy the software every time if the software is already installed.

ATB,
Marina

as extra suggestion, try to execute the "gpupdate /force" command more than one time. In some corner cases I saw the policy applied after 4 or 5 force command.

I've tried it already but no luck. 5.1.4 installs just fine with GPO but the newer versions do not (including 6.0.1). When the computer starts it sais applying software deployment policies but LibreOffice is not showing up at all.

have you tried to check the gpresult output? Can you share something with us?

And, what about the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Group Policy\AppMgmt key?

Try to remove the entry related to LibreOffice. This should force the deployment.

I deployed newer versions than the 5.1.4 and it works as usual.

Since no response, I'll close.
If you still experience with current versions, please explain and set to Unconfirmed.
