Test case

When exporting the attached test case file to PPT or PPTX the GDI portion does not show up correctly. In PowerPoint it shows up blank, while in Preview it shows with white fill under the text.

The test case was originally used on bug 99924

Also present when exporting on 3.3

You should not open the .odp in PowerPoint, but LibreOffice.

To reproduce the bug you need to:

1. Open GDI export test case.odp in LibreOffice, verifying how slide 2 and 5 look
2. "Save as" to ppt/pptx
3. Then open in PowerPoint/Preview/Keynote to see the rendering not looking the same (either being blank, or missing transparency on text)

My PowerPoint 2016 for Mac renders slide 2 and 5 with no table at all (pptx version), just per the screenshot on slide 3 and 7. It does not give a warning about any corruption

PPTX saved from LibreOffice looks good to me in MSO 2013. Is this again some difference between MSO versions? My 6.0 build is a bit newer than yours, maybe you could try updating.

After some more testing, this is an issue with rendering the exported pptx in PowerPoint for Mac. PowerPoint for Windows (MSO2007) shows the GDI table fine as you say.

This happens irregardless of whether I use LO Mac or Windows to export the pptx

So then the question is if this is a compatibility bug in LO, or a bug in PowerPoint for Mac and Apple's rendering engine in Preview and Keynote.

I also tested on MSO2016 for Windows where the rendering is fine.

So this is an issue that is only apparent in PowerPoint for Mac, and Apple's apps (Preview and Keynote according to original bug)

MSO for Mac is known to be a different codebase having different bugs.

Did you try saving a version of the file from Windows MSO 2016 and opening that one in Mac? I think if it still shows a problem, we can call this a Mac MSO bug.

I tried resaving the pptx from Win MSO2016, and the result in Mac Office and Preview is the same.

So closing as not our bug
