I select a range of cells, perform a search and replace on the selection. Calc fails to keep my selection active after replacement. I have to select again to perform another replacement. Excel keeps the selection between successive replace actions making the multiple replace action flow more intuitive.
Test results: -When performing a one by one “replace”, the selection is kept. -When performing “replace all”, a dialog pops up showing the changed values and the selection was lost but shows only the new replacements. Please confirm the information mentioned above and change the status back to UNCONFIRMED if it is the case. Tested on: • Operating system: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bits. • LibreOffice: Version: 5.4.3.2 (x64) Build ID: 92a7159f7e4af62137622921e809f8546db437e5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.29; UI render: default; Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group And also on: • Operating system: Ubuntu 16.04.3 64-bits. • LibreOffice :Version: 5.4.3.2 Build ID: 92a7159f7e4af62137622921e809f8546db437e5 CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.4; UI render: default; VCL: gtk2; Locale: en-US (ja_JP.UTF-8); Calc: group
Confirmed as stated below : Test results: -When performing a one by one “replace”, the selection is kept. -When performing “replace all”, a dialog pops up showing the changed values and the selection was lost but shows only the new replacements.
Confirmed on the latest LibreofficeDev 6.0.0.0 alpha1. I was thinking about suggesting a checkbox "Preserve Selection" in the Find&Replace window, but I couldn't come up with a situation where the current behaviour could be preferred. No need for checkbox. The cell selection should absolutely be preserved.
