A test document to test the installation of the word processor at 05:28:37 on Sunday 10th December 2017.

    1. 05:28:37[a test piece of text]
    2. 05:28:37'...a suggested thought that otherwise would not have occurred but for the new installation of the word processor...'?????
    3. '

in Writer under Times New Roman waited until the screensaver blanked screen and pressed any key to open screen from screensaver to be greeted with new window with request to close program. Been happening for months. Latest after the newest Windows update and LibreOffice update!

Two additional comments

To the original report add, 'and leave unattended under the blank screensaver for at least twenty minutes preferably more than half an hour' then the window to close or debug greats me. On using debug option I obtain 'Visual Studio just-in-time debugger' "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in soffice.bin [task PID]"

I have been trying out a parallel exercise in the same version of LibreOffice Writer under the same Windows 10 update on the same 2nd gen i5 Core on a Gigabyte h61 mb as opposed to an ASUS h61 mb. And nothing's happened yet!

I have a suspicion that the operating system has got a bit corrupted along the line for there are a very few number of uncharacterisable feature dysfunctions in other programs like IE11 and Edge. I think it's a bug but I'm not sure in what!

LibO 5.4.4 is out. upgrade and retest.
consider also trying to reset the user profile:

Yes, of course, and better, I completely uninstalled the old version, checked that the user profiles had been removed and then installed 5.4.4 from a fresh download. So far it works perfectly. Sorry to be such an idiot.
