I am currently using the version before the current one. [I have just downloaded the current version and will be installing it soon], I copyedit stories for several authors that post their stories online. In order to keep things straight I have several different directories I save the file I am working on to, depending on which stage I am at. Example: I just worked on a story that was storied in the subdirectory 'First Pass'. When I finished editing it I selected 'Save As' to store it in the subdirectory 'Second Pass'. After I did that, I went to exit LibreOffice by clicking the 'X' box in the upper right hand to exit the application completely. When I do that I get the message asking me if I want to save my document before exiting. If I cancel that, and click on the 'x' to close the current working window, then exit LibreOffice, everything works fine. And yes, the document was saved properly in the subdirectory I wanted it in. It looks to me like a flag is not being passed from the current working window to the writer app itself, which leads to the save question. I know this is not a major bug, but thought I should pass it along anyway. Tim aka lonelydad58
UNCONFIRMED Tested with version: - 5.4.3.2 (x64) - 6.0.0.0.beta2 (x64) Windows 10 64 Locale: bg-BG (bg_BG) Retest steps: - create file 1.odt in folder 1 - open file 1.odt and choosing Save as.. - saving as 2.odt in sub folder 1.1 - closing the Writer window from X icon in the upper right corner - window closes without save prompt message
This is all done with version 5.4.3.2 under Windows 10 version 1709 (16299.125) Directory structure: Book Name First Pass Second Pass Steps: Opened LibreOffice Selected create new Writer document Typed text into document Saved it in directory First Pass Exited LibreOffice Started LibreOffice again Selected Open File Selected previously created file in 'First Pass' Made changes Selected Save As Saved modified file in 'Second Pass' Clicked outermost 'X' box to completely leave LibreOffice Received error message If I duplicate all of the second steps except that after I do the Save As into directory Second Pass I select 'Exit LibreOffice' from the File menu, then it closes without the error message.
NO ERROR I followed exactly the steps above and I did not get any error. Tested with version: - 5.4.3.2 (x64) Could not test it with 6.0.0.0.beta2 (x64), because it crashes when I try to type any text in the newly created file from create new Writer document menu. Would be nice if anyone else test it too.
No problem for me per steps in comment 2. Maybe there is some special object in the book document that is constantly causing the file to be flagged as modified? Some chart, embedded object or whatever. Version: 5.4.3.2 (x64) Build ID: 92a7159f7e4af62137622921e809f8546db437e5 CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default; Locale: fi-FI (fi_FI); Calc: group
Am currently upgraded to the current version. Am running Windows 10 1709 completely patched. I opened LibreOffice, selected 'New Write Document', typed in a single sentence, did a 'File Save', and saved it to my Documents subdirectory. I then attempted to exit LibreOffice by clicking on the outermost 'X' box in the upper right corner. I received the document not saved warning and hit cancel. I then repeated the click on the same 'X' to exit LibreOffice, which it did without further warning.
Ok, very strange. Can you try with: Help - Restart in safe mode and then Continue in safe mode without doing anything else?
