Misbehaving Calc Demo Spreadsheet

Calc misbehaves. Attached is a spreadsheet. This error can be demonstrated two different ways.

1. Open the spreadsheet. Navigate to the DEC 2017 sheet if necessary. Note the value in cell D27 is $733.81. Add a sheet by pressing the big plus sign just to the left of the MAY 2017 sheet. Now look again at cell D27 on the DEC 2017 sheet. It now reads $1133.91. Now close the spreadsheet without saving.

2. Reopen the spreadsheet. Navigate to the Dec 2017 sheet if necessary. Note the value of cell D2 is $-26.91. Now copy cell D2 with CTRL-C. Note that still reads $-26.92. Now paste with CTRL-V. Now once again you have input no changed values but the amount in cell D27 now reads $1133.91.

This phenomena did not happen until I upgraded to LibreOffice 5.4.2.2.
My computer is Gigabyte motherboard with Intel i7 and 16 gigabyte RAM running Ubuntu 17.10 64bit.

I suspect that this should be a critical bug, math should not be changing without user input.
Comment 2 Regina Henschel 2017-12-24 23:23:00 UTC
It has nothing to do with inserting sheets or copy&paste. You get the same with a hard recalculate (Ctrl+Shift+F9).
So the questions is, why the sheets were not recalculated before saving.

On windows 7 x64 with Version: 6.0.0.1
Build ID: d2bec56d7865f05a1003dc88449f2b0fdd85309a
CPU threads: 3; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default;

D27 is always $1133.81, but that might be because 'always recalculate' is set.

Version: 5.4.2.2
Build ID: 1:5.4.2-0ubuntu0.17.10.1
Threads CPU : 4; OS : Linux 4.13; UI Render : par défaut; VCL : gtk3;
Locale : fr-FR (fr_FR.UTF-8); Calc: group

The bug displays.

try 5.4.4.2 which has been released recently and tell if issue persists.
Comment 7 Joseph Conner 2017-12-29 19:26:00 UTC
I upgraded to 5.4.4.2 and I cannot reproduce the error. Regina said that it was a recalculation issue with "always recalculate" being set. While I have looked for such a setting but not finding it, it seems to me that a spreadsheet should be recalculated whenever any modification is made to it.

I recommend that the bug report be closed.
