Description Wolf Jäcklein 2018-01-07 11:27:51 UTC
Description:
Comparison of two large numbers (using the operator "=") within a function gives wrong result.

Example: two cells contain a big natural, different only by 1:
A1 := 1 330 207 388 348 513
A2 := 1 330 207 388 348 514

A third cell compares them:
=IF(A1=A2;"yes";"no")

==> result "yes"

The result is wrong.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. see example in "Description"

Actual Results:
The comparison gives wrong result. There is no warning that the numbers are too big to be handled by LibreOffice Calc.

Expected Results:
The comparison should state correctly that the two numbers are *different*.

Reproducible: Always

Cannot reproduce with 5.4.1.2 and 6.0.0.1 x64 on Win10. Please test with supported versions before submitting.
Comment 2 Jean-Baptiste Faure 2018-01-07 16:33:33 UTC
Not reproducible with current master built at home under Ubuntu 16.04 x86-64.
Not reproducible with LO 5.4.4 from Ubuntu PPA.

How do you produce these big numbers? Are they the result of a formula?

Set status to NEEDINFO, please set it back to UNCONFIRMED once requested
informations are provided.
