Description Jon 2018-01-22 10:40:14 UTC
Description:
I often want to add the same animation to several elements on a page. Currently it's necessary to select each element and choose an animation.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Choose multiple elements on an Impress slide
2. Choose an animation in the animation list on the sidebar
3. The animation is applied simultaneously to all selected elements

Actual Results:
1. Choose multiple elements on an Impress slide.
2. The animation list is blanked out. There's no way to choose an animation with more than one element selected

Expected Results:
Desired result: The animation list remains active so that an animation can be chosen for all selected elements

Reproducible: Always

Additional Info:
Version: 5.4.4.2 (x64)
Build ID: 2524958677847fb3bb44820e40380acbe820f960
CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group

Version 6.0 makes it even more difficult to add animations. In previous versions it's possible to click in the animations list, then type the first letter of the desired animation (in some cases multiple times to move through all the animations beginning with that letter). This is much easier than scrolling through the list each time I want to add an animation. It's no longer possible in 6.0, whether by design, or a bug.

I think bug 54126 is essentially the same request. I will modify it to include yours specifically.

Regarding the regression you mentioned at the end, it is related to the automatic preview being enabled. I will investigate it and open a new report (and add you in the cc).
