Created attachment 139484 [details] Screenshot - Create a 2x2 table in Impress. - Insert 4 extra columns. => Table badly falls off to the right of the slide. If a 2x6 (row x column) table is created right away, it fits much better. Basically, the table should never extend outside a slide when the size is increased indirectly. However, I'm not sure what kind of algorithm the increase/repositioning follow. Should it be extended in the direction where the new rows/columns are added? Or should it stay centered over the original position? Or maybe resize in both directions proportionally? Dear UX team, are there any usability practices to follow here? Observed using LO 6.0.0.3 & 3.3.0 / Windows 7.
I don't see any alternative to how it's handled in Writer, meaning to reduce the width of all columns. On the other hand, how many columns fit nicely into the table depend on the screen/app size. With a reasonable large width you can have 10 columns without any problem. As the table is floating in a frame it's possible to place it at the right edge of the slide, which makes no sense but contradicts all countermeasures. Balancing the options my take is WONTFIX.
No more opinions, closing as WF. Maybe Justin has an idea as he is improving the autosize feature currently.
