Description John 2018-02-05 16:28:18 UTC
Description:
In writer I generated a page of labels using the Avery A4 L7173 template. In order to tweak the placement of the labels on the page I tried to edit the frame properties. The first frame edit was successful, but when I edited the second frame the properties of the first were also changed, placing it in an identical location to the first. Occasionally I was able to edit two frames but then the third caused the same problem. Additionally the order that the frames appeared in the Navigator changed.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Generate a page of labels.
2. Add some content to the first label and synchronise
3. Alter the properties of the first frame, reducing its height and lowering its placement on the page. Not the distance lowered was less than the reduction in height.
4. Do the same for the second and third frames.

Actual Results:
Frames disappear from view although still appear in the Navigator.

Expected Results:
The size and location of each frame should be edited independently.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

I reproduce them going out of view. In 3.3, they just mimic each other. However, the labels are linked to each other by nature (synchronize feature etc.), so I'm not sure if you are supposed to mess with them like that and expect things to work.

Thus I am leaving this unconfirmed.

Note for testers: the frame you need to edit is the outer frame of each of the labels. Select it, right-click - properties - type: height & vertical position.

The reason I wanted to move them is because the print was moving up the label going down the page as they were printed. I had successfully solved that problem with another label in the manner I was attempting with this one.

The underlying issue may be with the printer driver for the Epson SX215 I use not giving the correct vertical movement, so I was trying a work-around that I had used successfully before.

Best wishes

Couldn't reproduce it with

Version: 6.2.0.0.beta1 (x64)
Build ID: d1b41307be3f8c19fe6f1938cf056e7ff1eb1d18
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; VCL: win;
Locale: en-US (de_DE); UI-Language: en-GB
Calc: threaded

Perhaps I missed something. I tried to reproduce it as follows:
1. Select the outer frame of the to lable on the left
2. Properties
3. I changd thw width to 6,91 cm and the position 12,63 cm left from the entire page.
4. OK => Only that label changed size and position.

I have updated my version of Writer to 6.1.3.2 and can confirm that the problem has been cured in this version also. Am changing the status to RESOLVED.

Thanks John
