Opening an ascii.txt-file with option "text encoding (choose)" will not use what had been set as default setting for page-layout but something else.
In this case:
default Margins had been set right to 1 cm (to fit for import)
past opening the page-margin right is 2 cm 
(which gives nasty linebreaks when importing text to fonts with fixed width)

this did not happen again 
(text-coded does now honour(not overwrite) the format/layout of area wher inserted), so this works for me
