the left, right, center, top, from top, bottom, page, paragraph etc. is not always retained but changed unpredictably to a different way to achieve the same result. i hope that what you are doing is not to replicate WORD's treatment. thank you ken

I don't understand what you mean by "user's digits/relationships".
Please give numbered steps on what we need to do to see the problem.

Set to NEEDINFO.
Change back to UNCONFIRMED after you have provided the information.

The reporter privately emailed me for some reason. Quoting:
"sorry for the confusion. this refers to any attribute which is a measurement. assume a "thing" was defined as 1.2345 inches wide, to change any of the digits one must position the cursor, insert a digit, & press delete. if however that digit could overwrite the next the digit the "delete" would be unnecessary. i did mention that this is trivial but i seem to have the infinite capacity to forget that delete. if i wish to change 1.23 to 1.34 i end up with 1.3423 when i forget the deletions. my assumption is that any digital change to a dimension is a replacement rather than an insertion.

note that a plus, minus, period, currency symbol, length symbol for foot or inch or weight is not a digit."

You are describing the behaviour of the "Insert" key on your keyboard. Try it and you will see it changes the mode of insertion in the value fields. You just have to remember to turn it off after you are done - it affects the whole operating system after all.
