Description Cuadtigers 2018-03-07 16:16:29 UTC
Description:
It seems like a good start but lots of calculation errors in the knock off Excel package. It can't auto sum. I entered my data clicked the sum button, everything highlighted right, but it failed to calculate. No, I did not have words in my formula it was all numbers, been using Excel and Open Office for years. If you click sum all it does is =sum (#:#) where # is your data. It will post either the formula or #### in the cell. I even did it the old fashioned way by entering =#+#+# and still it would not compute. I double checked it by doing a small sum in another column with 5 numbers and same error. I even read the manual to make sure I did it right and it still failed to compute a simple 1+1.

I have to forward my data to another computer with Excel for correct calculation which worked in seconds.

Actual Results:

Expected Results:
Nada it only entered ###in the cell no matter the size of the cell or it repeated the formula.

Reproducible: Always

Please attach a sample spreadsheet, and give the LibreOffice version you tried with.

I have attached a sample spreadsheet. See columns E and F...the totals are both incorrect.

Anne, are you the original reporter? What's the expected value, and what are you actually getting? Additionally, which LibreOffice version are you using?
Comment 6 Anne 2018-03-15 12:02:05 UTC
I am not the original reporter. I found this as I was getting ready to report. Both columns are off by $.02 when I add by hand or using Excel. I have made sure that Auto Calc is turned on, and attempted a recalculation, although nothing happens. I upgraded to 5.4.5.1, but still does not sum properly.

I checked this both in Excel and LibreOffice, and the results correspond to each other within at least 5 decimals (surely more). I don't know what you did, if you copied values from one program to another, make sure the columns are calculated in both software, and the number of displayed decimals in the final sum is set to the same in both Excel and Calc.
