Description Daniel Oakey 2018-03-26 17:14:49 UTC
Description:
When an image is inserted into Impress using Insert > Image, the inserted image is centered and resized to fit the slide while maintaining the image's aspect ratio.

If a video file is inserted using Insert > Audio or Video, the inserted video file is centered but not resized to fit the page.

Example: https://i.imgur.com/RDJBVKq.gif

This is especially troublesome when a video's resolution is high enough that the video size expands beyond the boundary of the slide. If this occurs, there will be glitches during the presentation of that slide.

Example: https://i.imgur.com/n8Qvr9p.gif

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert > Audio or Video
2. Select a video file with a resolution of 1920x1080
3. Begin presentation

Actual Results:
* The imported video is not resized to fit the page.
* Showing this slide in the presentation will have glitches. For me, this means
the video actually sort of appears on the slide, then runs away.

Expected Results:
Videos imported using the Insert > Audio or Video function should be resized and centered the same way images are resized and centered when using the Insert > Image function.

Reproducible: Always

The glitch that occurs when the video is too large seems to depend on the video encoding. It does not occur when I convert the video to raw with ffmpeg, then load the raw version into impress.

Would the idea be to do that always?
