When creating a bulleted list (or list style), you can select the character for each list level from the customize tab -> character -> select. This opens the Special Characters dialog, which was recently redesigned with a text filter function. The box is called "search". Problem: If I filter before selecting a character, then click "OK", nothing happens. For an example, enter "check" into the search box, then select U+2611 BALLOT BOX WITH CHECK. As far as I can tell, the actual character selected makes no difference. Same for the font. If I scroll through the list and select the character, it works as expected. Furthermore, in the case where the dialog is accessed from Insert -> Special Character, both methods work as expected.
Can't reproduce it with Version: 6.1.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 2325f9ac789cd12e5ecc9d239baf2558e1d678bb CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: default; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-04-05_00:37:47 Locale: en-US (de_DE); Calc: CL ... - enter "check" into the search box - OK => three results - select "ballot box with check" => press "OK" - result: special character is assigned to the bullet level
Kenneth: do you want to check, if a recent master build has a fix for your problem? Set to NEEDINFO. Change back to UNCONFIRMED, if the problem persists. Change to RESOLVED WORKSFORME, if the problem went away.
Yes, I'll download it when I get a chance.

Okay, the problem appears to be fixed on Linux too in master as of 2018-04-20 (I used the "daily" AppImage). I think the fix needs to be identified and backported to 6.0, considering that the new dialog is a major advertised feature. (What should the bug status be in this case?)
