Description Milos Sramek 2018-05-15 15:41:02 UTC
The English text related to statistical functions needs some cleanup, there are several nearly identical strings which should be unified. Perhaps these are just 3 different things, but we have 10 versions. Translation of these nearly identical strings is a nightmare and requires to study details of these functions.

Number 1, number 2, ... are 1 to 254 numerical arguments which portray a sample.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments portraying a sample of the distribution.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments portraying the population.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which portray a population.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which portray a population.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which portray a sample of a population.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which portray a sample.
Number 1, number 2, ... are numerical arguments which represent a population.
Number 1, number 2;...are numeric arguments representing a population sample.
Number 1, number 2;...are numerical arguments representing a sample.

One should minimize the number of variants:
which portray - portraying
which represent - representing
represent - portray (If these are synonyms)
a sample - a sample of the distribution - a sample of a population - a population sample

thanks in advance
Milos

Hi, thanks Milos for reporting the issue and thanks Julien for adding me to it. I already pinged Olivier about inconsistencies in those sources strings. I've added Olivier to the issue, he will decide what is best to do. Sophie

Strings can be found in sc/inc/scfuncs.hrc.

Olivier: any update about this one?
