Description Vas 2018-05-25 10:24:12 UTC
Description:
I would like the ability to protect my database via password. Currently this is not possible if the database is standalone (embedded I think).

If the source of the information of the database is via a protected spreadsheet, there is no problem as the password is requested.

Please note that I am not talking about a separate SQL/front-end scenario, just the regular database.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new database from Base
2.
3.

Actual Results:
No option to set a password

Expected Results:
Would like the ability to set a password for a database

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/65.0.3325.183 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/1.97.1183.3

You are right:
1. It is impossible to set a password for the *.odb-file
2. It is impossible to set a password for the embedded databases

So this is a valid ask for enhancement.

But I'll set it as duplicate of bug 70638 as there was a similar/same request long before yours.
