Description kirkmiller 2018-06-02 07:01:16 UTC
Description:
1. Select 'Insert special character'
2. Right click on cell U+956 (devanagari vowel sign ue - this is available with e.g. Noto Sans Devanagari font)
3. Select 'copy to clipboard' from right-click menu

LO then freezes. I can't exit from the special-character window, which flashes (disappears and reappears in approx 100ms) every few tens of seconds. The 'cancel' button at the bottom and the 'x' box at the top are greyed out.

This has happened multiple times. It's not a problem with several other characters in the Kashmiri addendum to Devanagari. It's not a problem if I double-left click U+956 or hit the 'insert' button rather than right-click+copy it. I have not tested all characters in the range (e.g. U+957).

Steps to Reproduce:
given above

Actual Results:
given above

Expected Results:
character should be in clipboard so I can paste it multiple times, rather than having to use the special-character window over and over.

Reproducible: Always

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated yesterday + gen rendering, I don't reproduce this.
For the test, could you give a try to LO 6.0.4?

Can not reproduce on Windows 10 Home 64-bit en-US locale with

nor on

Version: 6.0.4.2 (x64)

Set CTL font to Microsoft Nimala UI (left default Hindi, but could be one of the other Indic languages). Open the Special Character dialog, Navigate to the Devangari block.

Mouse over any of the vowel signs, right mouse context menu "Copy to clipboard".

Using clipboard utility (Nir Sofer's InsideClipboard) I see a Format ID 13 CF_UNICODETEXT for the selected glyph.

A <Ctrl>+v paste to paragraph places the glyph--and will combine with other glyps from the block. Also verified the clipboard will retain the copied glyph for subsequent use.

The "Add to Favorites" button and selection from that stack seems to work well as an alternative to holding on clipboard.

After updating to LO 6042 the problem resolved.

BTW, you might want to note in your email updates that bugzilla-daemon@ does not accept responses.

Thank you for your feedback, let's put this one to WFM.

About bugzilla-daemon@, I think it's expected, so to respond, you can only comment.
