Created attachment 143466 [details] Screenshot of the Special Characters window on Win7 The Symbol font sets look changed between 6.1 and 6.2 on Windows in the Special Character window. Actual results: F0A1 and several other symbols have changed in LibreOffice Writer 6.2.0.0.alpha0+. Now they look as if they were replaced by Webdings. This also means that documents using these special characters look differently. Expected results: F0A1 and several other symbols should be the same as in LibreOffice Writer 6.1 Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Build ID: e7d3976cb80f7e7401be071f905a764dd6cb4d6e CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 6.1; UI render: default; TinderBox: Win-x86@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-06-29_04:46:32 Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU); Calc: group threaded

Issue was not with the Symbol font, nor any symbol font using PUA mapping. Rather it was with the font handling for filling the charmap. Mishandling of font fallback has been resolved for current master/6.2 retest with build after 2018-07-11 Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ (x64) Build ID: 86ca9badf9be518be3456afde70271bc1f956065 CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 10.0; UI render: GL; TinderBox: Win-x86_64@42, Branch:master, Time: 2018-07-11_02:27:04 Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: CL =-ref-= https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=fad862e290d727fc9fefe206f6e4b807482c4175 https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=ca4e75d694a5fb41a1c800146319aa6ba34d8bab
