Description: I have a document docx wich is generated by Eclipse BIRT (https://www.eclipse.org/birt/). The file is correctly opened in Microsoft Word and Google Drive but it is not correctly opened by LibreOffice. I have attached 2 files: - new_report.docx (file generated that is not correctly opened by libreoffice but correctly opened by word) - new_report_open_and_saved_in_word.docx (file generated, opened in word and saved by word). It is correctly opened by libreoffice. Do you know what is wrong in file new_report.docx ? new_report.docx is correctly opened by word. Thank you. Steps to Reproduce: 1. open file new_report.docx in libreoffice (some part of the document is missing) 2. open file new_report_open_and_saved_in_word.docx (all information is opened). 3. open file new_report.docx in Word 4. save file new_report.docx opened in Word as new_report2.docx 5. open file new_report2.docx in libre office, it works. Actual Results: some information is missing when we open file new_report.docx. Please provide further description of the mis-presentation, i.e. what's the file supposed to hold as opposed to what's presented. Also, are you absolutely sure the issue is with LO rather than with MSO or with the file itself? (i.e. BIRT could be generating an invalid DOCX file)
Created attachment 147815 [details] File compared in MSO2016, original with LO6.3+ and MSO-saved with LO6.3+ What is seen here was also present in other bugs. Original DOCX shows error via Open XML Productivity tool and is not quite correct. But as MSO reads it, LO should read it too. As it did with version 4.3.
Hi, We have fixed BIRT emiter to generate docx file compatible with Libreoffice. You can close the bug if you want.
LO should ideally read what MSO reads. But we have specific situation here with time-limited incompatible DOCXs. I guess we may say WontFix. Should a volunteer be willing to go into this, can be opened.
