Description Stefan Bartels 2018-07-17 03:27:02 UTC
Description:
When opening a document with wrong spellings that is write protected one first has to save this document with a new file name.
After saving this document the marks of wrong spellings do not appear unless you are typing something in the document.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write a wrong spelled text and save it. Close LibreOffice.
2. Change the documents properties to write protected.
3. Open the document and save it with a new name.

Actual Results:
The misspelled words are not marked by red underlining.

Expected Results:
All misspelled words should be underlined

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
I think this bug was already adopted from OpenOffice because this behavior could be seen in OpenOffice for years. (I expected LibreOffice to have eliminated this bug in the meantime...)

Repro OO and 6.2+. At best, if bug at all, than trivial, any change will show spelling. Not sure if it's worth keeping open.

The Bug is still present.

About-Info:
Version: 6.1.6.3 (x64)
Build-ID: 5896ab1714085361c45cf540f76f60673dd96a72
CPU-Threads: 4; BS: Windows 6.3; UI-Render: Standard;
Gebietsschema: de-DE (de_DE); Calc: group threaded

Though Timur mentioned it is not worth keeping open, I think, it can't be a big job to do. Hopefully one has just to call the procedure of showing the misspellings after having saved a document or after having pressed the button to change the write-protected document.
I admit, in general people are opening a document to change something in it and this will show the misspellings, but in my case it is different: I use such a document for teaching pupils. They do not have to change anything except the misspellings. But those are not shown unless they change anything else.

The bug is still present.

Tested with
Version: 7.5.7.1 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 47eb0cf7efbacdee9b19ae25d6752381ede23126
CPU threads: 4; OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19045; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: win
Locale: de-DE (de_DE); UI: de-DE
Calc: CL threaded

Timur is right: The wrong spellings do not show up immediately and show up after editing the first letter. I'm not sure either, whether it is worth keeping open.
On the other hand as I said: I think the change could be done very quickly.
